Can I just start by saying that I am so thankful for all the couples I work with that trust me to photograph their wedding day. I mean, it’s a pretty important job, because at the end of the day, their wedding photos and video will be the only thing that the couple will have after the wedding is done. These will be the photos that they will show each other when they’re old and forgetful. Thank you for the honor and the privilege to photograph such a special and important day in your lives.
Which brings me to Becca and Paul. I’ve known Paul for 12 or 13 years now, as he is family with some of my closest friends, but I’ve never met Becca. I knew that if I had to win someone, it would be the bride, as most of the planning conversations are done with her. I would be lying if I didn’t say that I was nervous. Which was all for nothing, because we clicked right away. And I’m so happy because you know the saying “happy wife, happy life”? My favorite saying is “happy bride, happy photographer”!
If you’ve ever worked with me you know that I will do everything to make sure the bride is happy. Unless it comes to weather. The week before the wedding the weather app said that there is chance of rain and well I told Becca not to worry too much. Morning of the wedding day, as she was getting ready, guess what, IT STARTED RAINING. Internally I was freaking out because I wanted Becca and Paul to have the best day, but let me tell you something, the pouring rain didn’t impose on their joy. While we were taking their bridal portraits at the Fourth Presbyterian Church in Downtown Chicago, they knew that the most important part of their wedding day was that they are getting married.
Despite the pouring rain and gloomy weather, it was a beautiful joyous day and I cannot wait to share this Downtown Chicago Wedding with you all!
