Ever since I saw Katie’s proposal facebook post, I internally really, really, really wanted to be their phoenix wedding photographer! I mean, who wouldn’t, they’re such a beautiful couple! Katie and I became friends in 2011 during our Phlebotomy program. She went on being a phlebotomist and pursue her nursing career. I went on never working as a phlebotomist but pursuing photography. Sometimes I think about how I probably could’ve saved a good amount money by not doing the phlebotomy program. But then I wouldn’t have met awesome people like Katie, and we can’t have that. I also can see a good vein on anyone’s arm, so there’s that haha.
A few years later, I had the honor of taking Katie’s nursing program graduation photos. It was so fun catching up with her again after years of just facebook conversation. We talked about life, marriage, her relationship with Nick, and again I secretly hoped that when he popped the big question, I would be their photographer.
Fast forward to last year, I’m scrolling through facebook and right there a very important post, Nick and Katie are engaged! I seriously squealed, not even joking. I typed, “YES YES YES YES YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!” while screaming it at my phone! Alex was definitely worried ha! When she reached out about her wedding day, the excitement definitely continued. Since they live in Tucson and I was in Phoenix, we did our consultation over the phone so I didn’t get to meet Nick until their engagement session and I was really nervous. This is when I need to win the grooms and make sure they don’t regret booking me haha. Let me tell you one thing, I had no reason to worry, we hit it off right away and it was such a fun session!
