I met Ashley at Missy and Tony’s wedding in 2015, and soon became facebook friends. She commented on all of the photos of Abbie and every time I would share a wedding post she would love it and comment. When Connor proposed to her, I was so so happy for her, and secretly hoped she would book me, but didn’t want to get my hopes up!
Well a few weeks after having Addison, while being on my mini maternity leave, I got a message about Alex and I to photograph her wedding day! Now let me remind you that this was circa May of last year which means that Ashley and Connor met me around 18 month before their wedding day. And on that day, October 20th seemed like so far into the future.
My dear friends, it came so so quick, that I cannot believe that its already been over 2 weeks since their big day! When I walked in the house where Ashley was getting ready, I went to give her a hug and she started crying, because she couldn’t believe that her special day was there and I get to be her photographer.
Now please don’t think this is me fluffing my feathers because if y’all know me you know that I don’t believe I’m the best photographer ever! When I met Connor a few hours later I told him and he said something that made me cry, “Oh yeah, she was so excited you are our photographer, besides the wedding, you’re the one vendor and experience she’s been looking forward to the most!” Cue me holding back my tears!
I always tell Alex and close family and friends that while I’m active on social media, and try to blog as much as possible, I never really do much to find ideal clients — I’m not sure that made sense — what I’m trying to say is that ALL of the weddings I’ve ever photographed were God sent. God handpicked them and sent them to me (as I like to put it), and my goodness y’all, Ashley and Connor were absolutely GOD SENT!
I love your little family and can’t wait to see the memories you all make together!
